GET INFORMED

To fight bigotry and overcome apathy, we need knowledge. We start by learning more about other cultures and about our own. By learning of past struggles for dignity and freedom, we can chart a path forward for our movement.

OUR HISTORY

America wouldn’t be what it is today without Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Our contributions, from culture to sciences to advocacy to our communities, have had an impact on every American.

The history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders is a story of a generations-long fight for liberation, recognition, and safety.

THIS ISN'T NEW

The recent rise in hate crimes against the AAPI community was a wake up call for many. But history shows us this is not new. When we understand that this racial hatred and discrimination goes back centuries, we can see how it touches almost every part of our daily lives, from culture to politics.

And with this awareness, we can begin to examine and change our own actions, to speak up and speak out against racism wherever we see it. It’s not always easy, but it’s the only way to stop hate once and for all.
